The Kid with The Camera - Two daughters and a hungry ex-wife.

INT. POLICE INTERROGATION

DET. FRANK Holden and ROY Hopkins surround Walter.

 FRANK

Hello kid. You've met Detective Hopkins haven't you?

               ROY

        Call me Roy.

               FRANK

You, uh, you look like you could use a good bath and a shave.

      ROY

You stink Walter.

                             FRANK (CONT’D)

Yeah. You know we need your help Walter. Jennifer Gordon’s gone missing and you seem to be the last one to see her. You and a hotel bellboy in Tahiti. We’re checking on him. Seems he was her lover. You were lovers right? What did you think about your Jennifer cheating on you like that? Listen. It looks bad. Really bad, Walter.

                   ROY

       Bad.

   FRANK

We gotta find her, or you’re our prime suspect. See. Last    one to see her. First one on our list.

                ROY

                      It’s a short list, Walter.

                FRANK

Very short. Okay, Walter. I realize you don’t want to implicate yourself. But if she’s in trouble you gotta talk.

ROY

Talk!

                                FRANK

Look, kid, I’m just looking for a few leads here, that’s all. It could be anything. Anything at all. Some small little detail that might break this case wide open. Cynthia Schnabel spoke to us and seems to have the impression that you murdered her. We'retrying to obtain a warrant to search your studio.

Walter looks intently at Frank.

               FRANK (CONT'D)

That’s right, kid. I'd prefer if  you’d just talk this out because we’re friends here, Walter.

                ROY

         Friends, Walter.

                FRANK

Friends, just chatting. That’s all. Chatting. So you just have to tell me something, Walter. You do understand I’m just doing my job. Right? You’re a photographer; I’m a police officer. I have alimony payments Walter.

                        ROY

Two daughters and a hungry ex-wife.

Walter looks down at the table. Roy lights a cigarette.

                FRANK

                  (takes out a cigarette)

       Do you want a smoke?

 WALTER

No. It is bad for you..

FRANK

So is murder, Walter, so is murder.
